For a village celebrated for its alpine heritage, Zermatt has long lacked a true, dedicated cheese shop — until now. Chez l’Ami Sami fills that space with precision, curiosity, and flair. Open daily, the shop offers a selection with around seventy percent of its cheeses sourced from Valais, complemented by exceptional products from Fribourg and a curated range from France. The range emphasizes quality, terroir, and Swiss identity. Alongside its cheeses, the shop offers fondue and raclette essentials, champagne, dried meats, eggs, potatoes, and other alpine delicacies. The restaurant, however, remains distinct — fondue and raclette are reserved exclusively for the shop, preserving the clarity of each experience and the sense of playful discovery between both worlds.
